My Dad and I have made an electric guitar out of bits and pieces we found around the place including an old wardrobe, some wood from a pallet etc.I think it sounds pretty good.

It’s in an open G tuning and is powered by a piezo pickup

Here is my latest one, it’s made out of an old wardrobe and bits of wood from a pallet. You can’t beat that kind of recycling (I obviously had to buy the strings and tuning pegs but less than a tenner for a new guitar isn’t bad!)

I posted an earlier blog post about just how I excited I was as well as a list of the records I wanted to get.

So yesterday I got up early and travelled to my local record store. When I got there, there were maybe 12 people in front of me. I didn’t mind, the queue wasn’t that big. The store opened and we all filed in and people were able to browse the records in the order they had queued.

To my disappointment, the first 6 people in the queue bought most of the stock. The first guy’s total was well over £300. Anyway, by the time I got to browse, the majority of the records had depleted which sucked. In the end, I actually left empty-handed as none of the records on my list was left.

The worst thing about it all is that at least one of the people who had bought records from my local record store has put them all on eBay with heavily inflated prices. That’s nice of them.

I hate the fact that the joy of vinyl gets ruined because certain people feel the need to profit off of music lovers. It sickens me even further that people are willing to pay those prices.

I am a music lover. I wouldn’t say I collect records, I listen to them. I do have a collection but they’re not all locked up in a cupboard to never be listened to ever.

To cheer myself up from the total washout “Record Store Day” I had, I am listening to some of my vinyl. At the moment I’m listening to Neil Hamburger “Hot February Night”, a comedy album that I’ll never get bored with.

So far, I have 3 songs recorded and mixed all ready for the next EP whenever that will be. I’m extremely excited about it as I feel that it’s very different from my last one. I think that it just has a much nicer vibe.

Ironically though, today I have recorded the darkest song I’ve ever written as the Horse’s Mouth yet I am probably the happiest I’ve ever been which doesn’t make any sense. The song “Going Insane” from the last EP was written at one of my most miserable times yet it doesn’t show. Weird.

That’s all I’ve really got to say at the moment, I’ll update you some more when I’ve got more to say.
